I haven't blogged in quite a while, sorry about the absence. Anyway, here are a few thoughts on the current topics of discussion today.
1. Obamacare rocks! Thank you Obama for this legislation you're trying to get passed. Nothing has been a better success for the Conservative movement than you and your socialist agenda, keep it up!
2. Racist my eye you wrinkled, cardigan wearing, economy killing, mentally impotent, pathetic excuse for a former President! I want you to come to my town and to my door and look me in the eye and tell me I'm racist simply because I stand up for my country! I dare you to do a tour of America and at every stop you tell those who gather to hear you pontificate you're economic malfeasance and tell them how racist they are for disagreeing with you. Then you'll see just how fired up we can get!
3. Joe Wilson is my new bff.
That is all. I'll come back soon and write a real blog with some actual content soon. I promise.

They Just Don't Get It, Or Do They?
A recent article by Al Vivian at CNN found here got me thinking. Why is it that liberals and media types just never seem to understand what it really is that we conservatives stand up for? His article was making the point that conservatives should have backed Henry Louis Gates Jr. rather than Crowley in the recent incident at Gates' home.
A quote from his article, "Think about it. If this truly were a post-racial America, as so many of my conservative friends tell me, then wouldn't Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, Glenn Beck, Bill O'Reilly and the likes have flooded the airwaves in support of professor Gates?
After all, don't their firmly stated beliefs force them to align with Gates? Aren't conservatives the ones who are always railing against "government intrusion" and "excessive use of government power"?
He makes two fundamental errors in his thinking about conservative values and beliefs that lead me to believe he and the rest of the media really are that dumb, or they purposely misrepresent what it is we stand for to bolster their own agendas. I lean toward the latter, because I don't think they are dumb, but I do think they have a basic lack of moral character which would cause them to lie about our ideals and still be able to sleep at night.
First, he makes the assertion that conservatives tell him this is a post racial America. Who are these conservative friends of yours anyway sir, because they surely do not represent anything I've heard from the conservative world. We know perfectly well there is still racism in America. The unfortunate thing is that it is always propogated by the left in order to make the conservatives look like the racists. Why would a conservative commentator support a man who immediatly pulls the race card right out of the gate? The first thing Gates did was insinuate that Officer Crowley was a racist and that's the only reason he was questioning him. Forgive me sir, but I do not support a man who is so full of distrust and hate that he would instantly assume race was the cause of the investigation.
Secondly, we are to believe that we should have stood up in support of Gates because we the ones always crying out against government and abuse of power. There is a wide gulf between an out of control federal goverment and a police officer trying to protect a citizen's private property. The comparison simply doesn't work and doesn't deserve any further argument.
My goal is not to defend Crowley or Gates. I think they both made mistakes, Gates was a typical arrogant elitist and Crowley should have just left when Gates showed him ID. What I'm saying is that this article brings into focus just what it is that the media propogates as conservative values. I believe this is why so many Americans have yet to realize that they are themselves, conservatives. We don't do a good enough job of getting our values out there while the media does a fine job of twisting our words and beliefs just enough so they don't line up with American values.
Most conservatives are not racists, but the left continues to assert that we are, and they use this incident as "proof" of it. We believe that the individual has the right and ability to make it on their own, but the left twists this to say we are hateful and uncaring for the less fortunate. Conservatives believe in free market principles, freedom and liberty, life, the chance to be more than you are and in the constitution. Sadly, the left is quite adept at taking these and causing us to appear to be cruel, uncaring, selfish haters when the exact opposite is true. Al Vivian has done a reasonably good job at this hatchet job, but not good enough to escape this simple minded American. How about you?

Shut Up!
President Obama is not a hard man to know. Unlike most liberals and socialists in America, he pretty much hangs his beliefs out there for all to see. For this one reason, I am able to give him very small amount of respect. He does certainly try to hide his socialism somewhat as the recent debate over his single payer comments has proven. Despite unedited and contextually accurate video of him specifically saying he wants a single payer system the White House is making a sad effort to suggest that those on the right are smearing him and making up false accounts of his speech.
You be the judge...
Clearly, despite being willing to admit to some degree of "social justice" he still can not bring himself to truly admit who he is. Now we come to the recent town hall debates. The congressmen are on recess and come home to angry Americans demanding answers and all the White House and their willing media lapdogs can come up with is that we on the right are nothing but an organized mob. Could they be less creative? They suggest that these protests are not the work of real Americans but rather, they are "astroturf", organized by the GOP or talk radio or other conservative groups. Can anyone say ACORN? The last thing we are going to do is take a page out of the extreme left's playbook. Americans are angry and showing up in hoards to let their arrogant and deaf congressmen know it.
The Botoxed One suggests that we are too well dressed to be average Americans. What arrogance and condescension to believe that the average American is some bottom feeding loser with dirty mismatched clothes stolen from a dumpster. She also suggests people are showing up with swastikas and Nazi symbols. The only instances of this have been to make the comparison of those in congress and the president who refuse to listen to the people whom they serve. I don't condone the Nazi comparison because while liberal ideology may be evil, the Nazi's were far more evil and the comparison simply doesn't further the debate.
The liberals pushing this health care "reform" are coming apart at the seams. They have stooped so low as to personally attack the very constituents they claim to represent. No American citizen is immune to the mean spirited and visceral hatred displayed by these so called "public servants". The most laughable part is their continued insistence that it is all organized and in no way grassroots when they have not one shred of evidence to back it up. The only evidence they tout is a manipulated article written by one man, so their only evidence is faked. Boy that sounds familiar. Congress and the liberal media no longer even pretend to have any decency or integrity. They will run with anything that suits their twisted ambitions whether it is confirmed as accurate or not.
Finally we have the President of the United States of America telling true patriots to shut up...
The first glaring and glittering jewel of ignorance is his insistence on those that made this mess shut up. He is talking to you and me. He is talking to the RNC. He is talking to Talk Radio. None of us have anything to do with the state of health care. Now for honesty's sake, the RNC can claim a little responsibility for the economy, but all in all, it's the tea partiers he's talking to. The President doesn't want to hear you. He doesn't want your opinion. President Obama has asked his supporters to show up at these rallies and drown out the voices of the people. This is simply below the office of the President. President G.W. Bush was booed and protested against for nearly his entire time in office, but did he ever ask anyone to counter protest? Certainly not, because he had class. He believed he could achieve his goals based upon their merits and sound reasoning. Obama must cower behind intimidation, violence, lies and misdirection to achieve his goals.
The more he pushes his union cronies to intimidate us, the more respectful we will become. The more he tells us to shut up, the louder we will become. The more demeaning our representatives become to us, the more we will debate. President Obama's plan will be a disaster and must not be allowed to go through. When Cap and Trade comes up for debate again, we will shout it down as well. Health Care will not be "Rahmed" down our throats neither will Cap and Trade. Chicago politics will not work on America sir, you will find that out soon enough. We, the American People, the Patriots, Mr. Obama's Bosses will never shut up, never.
We know who and what your are Mr. President. Why don't you just open up and give us the whole truth? Oh wait, you can't because then 95% of America would be against you rather than the current already high majority. Perhaps TOTUS will malfunction, we can only hope.

Stuart Smalley Goes to Washington
I really never had much to think or say about the election debacle that allowed Al "Stuart Smalley" Franken to become a Senator because election disputes are old hat and they happen regularly in politics. I don't know if he stole the election or not, but that fact is, he is now Senator Smalley. With this in mind, it's time not to look at how he got to Washington, but what he's doing now that the Pastel One is here. His first act as Senator Smalley was to co-sponsor the Employee Free Choice Act. This is a bill that will allow employees to more easily unionize. In essence, his first act was to pucker up and start kissing some union rear. I would not have expected anything less from the low self esteemed and self involved Smalley. All he wants is for people to have what they deserve after all, because that's what nice guys do. Kiss rear that is. No Senator, your first act was not an act of graciousness to the workers of this nation nor was it born of a desire to be sure every American is taken care of. It was a typical act of a politician currying favor with the unions (who no doubt got you elected) to ensure continued votes. Nothing more and nothing less. Your first act in Washington was to prove you are nothing more than an unimaginative political hack.
Even more interesting is his soft-ball questioning of Judge Sotomayor. Specifically his questioning her on Perry Mason. We all know the libs in Congress have every intention of ensuring her confirmation, but must they make it so obvious as to discuss a television program during one of the most transitional times in American History? We have Cap and Trade about to tax us all to death. We have Universal Health Care about to tax us even more and then be unable to treat our dying bodies. And we have a possible racist of an activist judge being questioned to be on the supreme court and Senator Smalley is asking about a television show. I think this points to the man's inability to let go of who he is at heart; an entertainer. The spotlight must always be on him and he will try to make friends with everybody and crack a joke in classic comedian fashion. The fact is, he is no longer a comedian, but a U.S. Senator. Senator Franken needs to shed his Smalley counterpart, forget his SNL past and begin acting like somebody who is representing the people of America for their greater good. So basically, stop acting like a U.S. Senator because they are all a joke.
Please pray that sanity would one day reign supreme in Washington. It certainly is nowhere in sight right now but I believe it is still lurking in the shadows waiting for the right person through whom it may begin to shine. Governor Palin, are you reading this?

Reverse Racism, A Legitimate Phrase?
In the annals of man's existence, we have managed to come up with an abundance of terms and phrases that cause a thinking person to stop and wonder what fool ever came up with that one. From the cacophony of silly southern phrases from which I have no escape due to my Alabaman Assistant Pastor to the new "accepted phrases" such as one of Websters newest additions, "green collar".
We have been hearing a lot about Reverse Racism recently and while this isn't a new phrase, it's received much use due to Judge Sotomayor's tap for Supreme Court Justice. I will refrain from discussing my thoughts on Sotomayor as a nominee *cough* not impartial *cough* and focus more on this concept of reverse racism and what it actually means.
I have trouble digesting this phrase because it flies in the face of all the values and ideals that I and most other Americans hold close to hearts. We believe in the individual and the individuals ability to rise above whatever circumstances they may be in to achieve something greater than what those circumstances would dictate. We believe in the concept of equal liberty and justice regardless of race, creed or religion. We believe that we are endowed with these rights by our Creator, Jesus Christ, and nobody can take them away.
It follows that no one minority or majority group can hold the monopoly on racism, bigotry, ageism, sexism, etc. Just because I am a white male it is assumed that I have more tendency toward this type of social profiling than the average female or ethnic minority. I attended a clinical conference last summer and one of the most sought after black preachers was a speaker at this event. He proceeded to pontificate for an hour on the racism and bigotry of white heterosexual males keeping blacks and gays down thereby subjecting them to a higher likelyhood of contracting the HIV virus. The speaker singled out one white guy in the audience and proceeded to tell those in attendance that he knew this white guy was racist purely by looking at him and observing the color of his skin. Forgive me if I'm just small minded and unwilling to admit my racist tendencies, but doesn't that make the preacher the racist? He made a preconceived decision about this unfortunate guy's principles and character based solely upon the color of his skin. I believe Dr. King rolled over in his grave at this preachers message of hate.
So this preacher could be called a reverse racist just like Judge Sotomayor because they are both minorities who have made racist comments about the white man. But I don't believe that holds water based upon the aforementioned ideals of the American people. No one group holds the monopoly on racism and it follows that no minority can be called a reverse racist for holding racist views about the supposed "official racists", the whites. To suggest that Sotomayor is a reverse racist is to suggest that it is atypical for a Latina to hold racist views but it common for a white person to hold racist views.
It is about time that all racial, ethnic, religious, gender, etc. groups came to realize that no one group is any worse than the rest. This will, of course, never happen so long as the media and the Democrats keep feeding the line that the minorities are being held down and held back because of the racist and bigoted people in the heart (flyover country) of America. When will the Al Sharptons and Jessie Jacksons be turned on? When will these groups finally realize that there is nothing holding them back other than their own misconceptions about what makes this country great? We can all succeed if we will just work for the good of ourselves and our families and our country. Stop relying on ACLU or Jessie Jackson to convince the country that you need a hand out and give yourself some credit! This country has countless opportunities for the less fortunate to get an education, affordable housing, good jobs (even in this economy), and in general, a chance.
There will always be racists, but there is no such thing as a reverse racist. Lets get together and cause the racists to become the smallest minority.

Jackson Dies, So Does Internet
The passing of Michael Jackson has left some people in deep despair while it has sparked some decidedly sick humor in others, ex: "Farrah Fawcett dies and goes to heaven. God asks her one thing He can do for her. She asks that all the children be safe, so He kills Michael Jackson."
I'll refrain from my personal sentiments regarding his death other than to say he was always one of my favorite performers and it is simply sad the way he spent his last years alive. My thoughts go to the response the Internet had to Jackson's death. While the Internet has seen large traffic jumps in the past, this one was oddly worse than most. In part, I believe, because of his huge star power and international acclaim. Also because the whole Internet took the brunt of the traffic rather than just one or a few sites. Numerous sites reported slowing to a crawl or simply tanking under the pressure as their servers just couldn't handle the load.
Amazon.com managed to handle it and good for them b/c sales of his records shot up to number one status over night. Many twitter apps shut down all together and Twitter itself experienced some trouble for a while because of the number of tweets that went out in such a tiny time frame. Also, while Google didn't go down, it did think it was under attack for nearly half an hour.
All this makes me wonder what will happen if something truly important happens? Will sites that people must go to for up to the minute reports and information go down leaving the masses to fend for ourselves? What if evil robots programmed by BO come into our homes and mug us for the Big Cheese? What will we do if we can't twitter each other and blog about it so we can discuss how to stop them? Or worse yet, what if Mrs. BO commits a fashion faux pas! The Internet may be down for days as we lampoon her while the libernazi's cry in their soup over her bad choice of style.
In any event, the death of a super star was news worthy for a day or two, particularly given the sudden nature of the his death, but let's get back on track already. We have a TON of work to do. None of the loser RHINOs who voted for Cap and Tax can be allowed to be re-elected. Those of you in their states need to start campaigning now to find a suitable conservative alternative to elect. Call their office and let them know they are now lame ducks. Call your state republican party leadership and let them know they better find somebody else to back for the next election cycle. Just do something. There must be consequences, or these losers will just continue to ignore the very people the elected them and lead this great nation to complete destruction.
Good Day.
